69. Connect the “Whys”

Continually seek your purpose. People are not driven by a “who,” “what,” “how,” or “when,” but they will walk through the desert for a “why.” Discover your “why.” Why do you do what you do? Know that your “why” will change throughout your life. There is a lot of writing about the importance of knowing your why or purpose. We know it can drive us, and a lack of purpose, or why, causes a slow decay in our humanness.

We can multiply the impact of our why if we find ways to connect our pur­pose to other people’s “why” and the organization’s purpose. “Whys” are like rocket fuel. Mixing our “why” with others can launch spaceships.
