My first book, Exponential Leadership, was inspired by Einstein’s theory of relativity (E=MC2) where I formulated my own Leadership Theory of Relativity formula, R=(A*I)B (see ProBit #49). At the end of the book, I asked, “If physicists ask if there might be a God particle, is it possible there is a God particle of leadership?”
I believe there is a foundational element that governs and drives leadership. It’s one thing that can inspire the masses, focus all our efforts, move mountains, drive innovation, and so much more. That element, or God particle of leadership, is simply a question mark. A question engages the brain and therefore the people around us. The pursuit of the answer to a question can consume us. The quote attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt is one of those questions: “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?”
