There is only one person who is looking out for you, your job, and your career: it’s you. Others will try to give you direction. Even though they may care, keep in mind they have their own biases, their own motivations, and their own agendas. Of course, take others’ input, just be clear about what you want to accomplish in your career and what’s important to you. Otherwise, you may end up going down a path you never intended.
