67. Tell Stories

It’s proven that people are more likely to remember what you tell them if you use a story. This is also true if you use word pictures, metaphors, and analogies; they too are as powerful as a story.
Storytelling is a great skill to develop and practice throughout your career. Watch great speakers or think about memorable speeches; you will likely find masterful storytelling. Audiences may not remember the point alone, but they will remember a story. As you prepare a talk, a presentation, a speech, or just communicating with someone, think about the point or points you want to make and then identify a story, a word picture, or a metaphor that will convey what you want to say.
