98. What Are You Working On?

Keep a short list of areas to develop yourself. We are all a work in progress until the day we die. Identify a few key skills to develop, and then find ways to hone those skills. If you want to improve speaking in groups, join Toastmasters. If you want to improve your financial acumen, take an online class like finance for nonfinance managers. If you want to expand your leadership, read a leadership book, and just pick one of the more than fifteen thousand titles out there. If you want to challenge your thinking, watch TED Talks or listen to podcasts. Ask others for ideas and resources to help you in your growth. Find a mentor! Good mentors are worth their weight in gold because they can help you reflect and define areas of development. Whatever the topic or the vehicle you choose, work on you.
